Ingredients:
2 cups white rice
2 cups of lentils
1 cup of fried onion
2tbsp of turmeric
2tbsp of cinnamon
1/2 cup of tiny raisins
1/2 cup of sliced dates
2 cup of fired veggie chicken or sliced fried tofu
2 tbsp of Braggs (or more)
1/4 cup olive oil
Directions:
Cook rice until al dente (almost soft) strain water, rinse briefly with cold water, set aside
Cook lentils (not too soft) strain water and rinse with cold water, set aside
Fry onions with turmeric, cinnamon, and Braggs until slightly brown, set half of it aside
Add raisins to other half and fry for few minutes, set aside
Fry the other half with chopped veggie meat or Tofu until slightly brown, set aside
Layering:
Put olive oil to the bottom of a bigger pot
Layer half an inch rice, half an inch lentils, onion-raisin mixture,onion-chicken (or tofu) mixture
Repeat once or twice
Add the rest of the rice, lentils and fried things on top and with a fork mix layers gently
Pour 2 spoons of water in the rice mixture if dry
Put a cloth or napkin onto the pot and close the lid
simmer rice on low heat (1/3 heat) for 30 min
