Rajiv Prasad
A proud immigrant, international businessman, avid historian, and patriarch of one of five Indian families that settled in the town of Franklin in 1977, Prasad joined Franklin Township Council’s governing body from 2006 until 2019, serving Franklin as a voice for the Indian community, which now numbers 15,000 people in a town with a total population of 70,000.
Rajiv Prasad now shares his reflections on the world and the profound spiritual path that ultimately guided him to his Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda. Assemblyman Danielsen presented Prasad with a commemorative plaque to thank him for his years of commitment to the township and praised Prasad for his ability to bring people together and thanked him for educating him on the many cultures, religions, and languages that make up Franklin Township.
